The Goal
The goal of Darul Arqum Islamic School is to educate children, in the best of Islamic traditions, using IQRA curriculum. The?curriculum is fully integrated with Islamic perspectives, including knowledge, history, traditions and values. Parents are encouraged to get involved with their children's education and to participate in the regular Parent-Teacher meetings. The Islamic School is structured to allow the students to involve their parents in their school life and school work. We believe that no two children are identical. An effective school program responds to this diversity with a curriculum that will meet individual differences and maximize each student's potential.
Video Program
We started this semester our video program. Right now we have around 25 Islamic vedios for children. Every week we show the students a vedio program and we discuss what they learned from that video. In addition, each student borrow one video see it at home for the entire week and then return it the following week to borrow a new one. By doing that the parents can also participate with their children at home and learn more about the video. The outcome of this program is really good and most of the students are enjoying this program.
Our Future Plan
We are planning to buy a new computer, monitor, slide show, and softwares to enhance our ability to teach our children and get advantages of the new technology. There are a lot of excellent Islamic computer programs that we can use and we need your help and generous contribution to start this program.
